Monthly plan
- You can cancel at any time, online, from your subscription settings.
- We do not refund monthly charges, in whole or in part.
- After you cancel, you keep access through the end of the month you already paid for. You will not be charged again.
Annual plan
Day 1 is the day of the first annual charge, or the day of an automatic renewal charge. The same schedule applies to each renewal.
- Days 1 to 7: full refund. Ask within 7 days of the charge and we refund the full amount.
- Days 8 to 60: prorated refund. We refund the unused part of the year, prorated as calculated by our payment platform.
- After day 60: no refund. You can still cancel at any time to stop the next renewal, and your access runs to the end of the paid year.
Example, for illustration only: you pay $149 and ask for a refund on day 30 of a 365 day year. About 335 days are left, so the refund is roughly $149 x 335 / 365, about $137. The platform's figure may differ by a few cents.
When a refund ends access
If you receive a full or prorated refund, your paid access ends when the refund is issued. You keep your free access.
Cancelling without a refund
If you cancel outside the refund windows, or you are on the monthly plan, you keep paid access through the end of the period you paid for. We do not shorten the period you paid for when you cancel.
Automatic renewal
Both plans renew automatically until you cancel. This is how we handle renewal:
- At checkout we show the price, the billing period, that the plan renews automatically, and how to cancel. You must agree to this with a clear action, such as ticking a box, before you are charged.
- Confirmation email. After you subscribe we email you a confirmation that repeats the renewal terms and the cancellation steps.
- Online cancellation. You can cancel online in your subscription settings. You do not need to call or write to us. If you cannot find the setting, email [email protected] and we will cancel it for you.
- Annual renewal reminder. We email annual subscribers 30 days before every annual renewal. The email says the plan will renew automatically unless cancelled, and gives the renewal date, the amount to be charged, the length of the new term (one year), the card on file (last four digits), how to cancel with a direct link, that cancelling stops future charges, and an email address for questions.
- Monthly renewals. We do not send a reminder before each monthly charge. Monthly receipts are sent by our payment processor.
- Yearly terms notice. Once a year we email every paid subscriber, monthly and annual, a short notice of their plan terms and how to cancel.
How to ask for a refund
Email [email protected] from the address on your subscription, or use the refund option in your subscription settings if one is shown. Refunds go back to the original payment method through our payment processor. Timing depends on your card issuer or bank; allow up to 10 business days.
Price changes
If we change a price, we tell you by email at least 30 days before it applies to you. You can cancel before the new price starts.
Billing mistakes
If you were charged twice or charged after you cancelled, tell us. We fix it and refund the charge even if it falls outside the windows above.
Consumer rights
Nothing in this policy limits any right you have under Virginia law or other law that cannot be waived.
